Takeshi's Tunnel

Chapter 2 and 3 are out now on the SubscribeStar!  The sun beating down above Kakariko Village warmed Link's exposed skin in his barbarian garb as he lay spread eagle on the grass, a gentle breeze wafting between the individual blades and over his body. Every opportunity to get some rest was appreciated by the young Hylian, even if it was just for a moment. After having explored the northeast of Hyrule and freed the divine beast Vah Rudania on Death Mountain, it was time to do the same with Vah Ruta in the Zora domain.  "Hey, stop touching that." A nearby research assistant glares at you as he smacks your hand away from some complicated looking control panel, the lights on the board all blinking periodically. Pulling your hand back, you scowl in return and wander away to join the rest of your class on their tour of the tech facility, still unimpressed. "Come on, when's something interesting going to happen? This place is fucking booooring," you grumble, mostly to yourself as you trail behind the group. The eggheads at the front keep the guide busy with all sorts of questions, but it's nothing you particularly care about. You're only taking this course because you need the credits, it's not like you're planning on going into the field at all. This was supposed to be a cakewalk, but you've wasted more time in this class than any other you can remember. As you pass by a heavy looking metal door, your phone buzzes in your pocket and you check to see who it is. ...

 The clouds that formed overhead on your way to work finally begin to unleash their downpour just as you step out of your car, forcing you to run awkwardly to the front of the ClamCorp building to avoid getting soaked. Sprinting between lamp posts and other cars, you manage to make it through the door without anything getting too wet, shaking yourself off in the lobby. "Oh, good morning! Have you met our newest hire?"  The woman at the front desk greets you cheerfully, waving you over to her. "Uh, good morning. No, who's the new person?" you reply, brushing your hair back into place with your hand. "They're in charge of security! Very cute, I hope they do rounds on the ground floor." she swoons, fanning herself with a folded piece of paper.  Leaving her to her own imagination, you walk over to the elevator and hit your floor, letting it carry you up to the top.
